Director of Photography
– crafting ideas into visuals, bringing stories to life –
Tobias Bosseck is an accurate observer and passionate collaborator. Precise narration can unfold on his deep technical understanding and his dedication to the script. It is his urge to provide freedom for captivating performances.
Originally from southwest of Germany, his curiosity for the world grew into passion for narrative visual work. Experience in 3D animation and post-production as well as being a lighting technician on feature films, tv-series and commercials, finally led him to cinematography as his medium of choice. He studied “media.design and production” at Offenburg University and has drawn from this multimedia background ever since.
He studied cinematography at Hamburg Media School.
In 2026 he operated the second camera for the puppetry-fueled feature film “Mr. Ravioli” alongside DoP Daniela Knapp.
His recent work “Auf Lunge” (funded by Saarland Film Funding) is a larger than life quit-smoking comedy, which is currently in postproduction. It marks the 10-year milestone of collaborating with writer/director Lukas Weishaar and is yet again a humorous depiction of an identity crisis that intensifies in a confined setting.
Tobi is experienced in digital cinema workflows, including virtual production, as well as shooting on analog 16mm and 35mm film. He is based in Hamburg.
